In our fully accredited Bachelor of Arts in Journalism program, you'll gain expertise in news writing and reporting, shooting and editing video, and designing mobile websites, using the latest industry tools and software.

Dual-Degree Program
Students have the option of pursuing an accelerated and cost-effective dual-degree program where they can earn both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Journalism.
Concentrations & Minors
You may pursue a Broadcast Journalism concentration with such coursework as multimedia journalism, feature reporting for podcasts, producing TV news packages, newscast producing and anchoring, and social media for journalism, or a concentration in Sports Journalism, focusing on sports reporting, broadcast news writing and reporting, and television sports reporting and producing.
All journalism 糖心传媒 are required to complete a minor. Choose from political science, civic engagement, criminology, global studies, international affairs, or many other subjects in your areas of interest.

Recent Hofstra journalism alumni began their careers at The New York Times, Billboard magazine, ESPN, Fox News, iHeartMedia, and other prominent organizations. Sara Whitman, BA'18; MA '19, was hired as a media assistant at Entertainment Tonight in Los Angeles.

State-of-the-Art Learning Spaces
Journalism majors at Hofstra have full access to three production studios with 4K ultra-high definition cameras, broadcast control rooms, a vertical video lab to create high-quality social media content, several editing rooms, color correction suite, large screening room, and the latest in field/mobile gear. Students can also create professional live audio and podcasts, video, and social media content in WRHU鈥檚 studios and a multimedia audio studio and control room.
